Results: Study Technology in the Workplace
Applied Scholastics helps employees become true professionals. When workers are unable to fully learn their jobs, the result is not just a bad grade.
Individual employees lose opportunities for professional growth. In the corporate world, retention rates for materials studied by trainees is lower than 10 percent. Job proficiency, if measured at all, generally ranges from 40 to 70 percent.
Training programs utilizing Study Technology have helped trainees become fully proficient and workers achieve new levels of skill at their jobs, with remarkable positive effects on their efficiency and productivity.
"Back in 1950 if you learned a job, it did not change much in the next couple of years," says Ingrid Gudenas M. Ed., President of Effective Training Solutions (ETS) in Silicon Valley. "Today, if you learn something in January, there is a good chance that by the following January, it's already obsolete."
ETS programs use Study Technology as the foundation of a training system that focuses on 100 percent proficiency. This training procedure enables each worker who is trained to gain complete mastery of his job.
When ETS programs were implemented at a major computer hardware firm, training time was reduced by as much as 70 percent — with graduates performing as well or better than veteran employees. As a result, the company is now using this system to introduce all new information system processes.
At another computer firm, assembly productivity went up 28 percent after ETS training, quality improved 80 percent with quality levels remaining above 99.5 percent each month. Employees have taken charge of their jobs. "Now that they've been trained and understand, they are much more vocal," said the director of manufacturing operations. "We get a lot more recommendations from them on how to improve the process."
ETS has delivered Study Technology programs to employees and management personnel from Fortune 500 companies with widely varied products, medical centers and government agencies. When vehicle safety inspectors in California were trained by trainers using Study Technology, computer input errors were reduced from 20 percent to 0.5 percent.

The Recording Institute of Detriot is a state-licensed professional school that trains people to be recording engineers. It was founded by former Motown Records technician and teacher, Bob Dennis.
Study Technology courses are an integral part of the school's curriculum. Students who fail the normal admissions test may still be admitted to the school if they complete a course in Study Technology, which has been proven to give them the skills they need to keep up with their coursework. Study Technology courses are also mandatory for all students who are undergoing the entire school program, as it has shown to be crucial in enabling them to achieve the required 85 percent pass rate for the final exam.
"As a result of Study Technology courses the retention and application of performance objectives is raised," according to Mr. Dennis. "Drop-out rates are much lower than the average for vocational schools. A significant improvement has also been noted in the placement of students in jobs in the recording field. The rate is now at over 85 percent."
Study Technology can have surprising and unexpected ramifications. In one case after learning this technology in one of my programs, two automotive employees went on to solve a problem with bearings that had eluded vibration experts for years. They attributed the breakthrough entirely to the Hubbard Study Technology.

In the aerospace industry we have to stay abreast of new scientific discoveries and ever-improving technology. The study methods of L. Ron Hubbard enable me to comprehend the new concepts so that I can efficiently apply them to my job.
I find these methods invaluable in a situation of continuing discovery and learning such as mine.

I am a graduate of M.I.T. and have a Masters Degree in math from the University of California San Diego. I have been using Mr. Hubbard’s Study Technology since 1978. I have used it in my work to help myself learn new things and I have used it to help teach my clients. I have seen it help many students — both children and adults — both fast and slow students.

All of our executives and staff apply the Study Technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard and this fact has been very instrumental in our success. This technology is fundamental not only to our high technology business but any activity where individuals must learn skills in order to survive — in other words, life.
