With Study Technology Without Study Technology
Beyond the United States, Study Technology has been successfully implemented around the world. One brief example hails from Brixton, England where two groups of 12 pupils each (age range 8.6 to 13.3) were given initial and terminal reading tests using the Daniels and Diack standard reading tests. One group was then given a very short course in reading skills (8-10 hours over 12 days) based on Applied Scholastics techniques and materials. The other group continued their normal studies.
Increase in reading ability of 1.29 years average gain occurred in pupils who were given the Applied Scholastics-based course, while no significant change in reading ability occurred in those who did not do the course.

Before Study Technology After Study Technology
The Study Technology Training Program was introduced to Zimbabwe in 1994. Warmly received by education officials, it soon demonstrated the vital role it would play in upgrading the quality of education.
By mid-2003, Applied Scholastics representatives trained 15,000 teachers in eleven districts, reaching more than 600,000 children.
As one teacher wrote, "The Study Technology workshop has opened up avenues to better learning environments. This will go a long way in sharpening teacher skills so as to work productively towards sustainable development."
More than 90 percent of the teachers saw an improvement in literacy and comprehension when they were trained in the Study Technology of L. Ron Hubbard. It was found that the training has a significant impact on the teachers' motivation and confidence, enabling them to be more self-sufficient in overcoming the difficulties facing them in everyday teaching.
And in 2002, an additional 3,700 teachers were trained-the first step in a plan to train all 90,000 Zimbabwean teachers in Study Technology.

Before Study Technology After Study Technology
In the first part of 1999, the staff of World Literacy Crusade in Compton, California delivered a Study Technology program at the Lindbergh Elementary School to help improve literacy levels.
Students were taught in a group for an hour a day after school. The Wide Range Achievement Test for reading was given at the start of the project and again at the end. Scores are presented as reading age equivalent in grade and months (6.4 = 6th grade, 4th month).
