From a single center in Hollywood in 1997, the Hollywood Education and Literacy Project (H.E.L.P.) has expanded to centers around the world. 

The key to the results H.E.L.P. achieves lies in its use of L. Ron Hubbard’s Study Technology. Tutors in the program are trained extensively in the use of these materials. The H.E.L.P. lineup of study is precisely laid out to take the student, whether child or adult and whether facile or illiterate in English, to new levels of learning.

In recognition of its successful mentoring and tutoring programs, the H.E.L.P. center based in Hollywood has received funding from the State of California’s Youth Mentoring Initiative and other sources, which has enabled it to provide services to community youth and adults at no charge.

Students can bring their homework in after school, illiterate adults can learn to read, non-English speakers who are desperate to learn the language of their new home or people who never finished high school and need a diploma to get a job—all of these and more are serviced by those who volunteer their time and energy to make a difference in the lives of those around them.
